Logistics firm Linkline Transport is gearing up for growth as it prepares to expand into its new 140,000sq ft headquarters in 2020.
The Northamptonshire-based company, a member of Fortec Distribution Network for more than seven years, is moving into a state-of-the-art facility in Prologis Park Wellingborough West next year – a new build which will feature a multi-bay racking system, 50,000 sq ft mezzanine floor and a state of the art, leading warehouse Management System (WMS) that will fully integrate with customers in-house systems.
With a capacity for 31,000 pallets, the new site will also include a fully covered loading and unloading canopy, enabling the company to continue operating throughout the UK and across Europe.
Tom Ball, General Manager at Linkline Transport, said: “Our new location and expansion will strengthen our business and our position in the sector yet further. We’re consolidating the transport and warehouse operations to function under one roof which results in closer controls and increased productivity.
“The business has experienced year on year growth so it makes sense to capitalise on this and invest for the future whilst cementing our presence in the Northamptonshire area and beyond. It’s a very exciting time for Linkline Transport as we embark on this journey and moving to a brand new, state of the art facility will certainly assist with the growth plans of our current client base and attract brand-new customers in the process.”
Tom added: “Joining Fortec Distribution Network helped us develop and open up our transport portfolio, which means we now offer an even wider range of services, from next day, economy to international deliveries. Being part of the Network offers our customers additional assurance – that we will always provide the most efficient service and deliver on a just in time basis.”
Linkline Transport joined Fortec Distribution Network in 2012 and today the company operates with a fleet of vehicles, from small vans to 44 tonne articulated lorries.
In 2016 Linkline was a Livery of the Year finalist in the Motor Transport Awards, thanks to the company’s decision to rebrand its fleet and trailers.
Tom added: “Our clean and contemporary livery still continues to impress and we even get enquiries from potential customers based on the positive first impression our vehicles make.”
Rebecca Wayte, Regional Commercial Manager at Fortec Distribution Network Ltd, said: “Linkline Transport are an extremely valued member of our Network, helping out with additional vehicles and support whenever we ask and always prioritising the Network. “
“The company’s imminent expansion is an exciting development and we wish Linkline success.”
As well as dedicated warehousing, Linkline Transport offers a full range of distribution services for a dedicated haulage solution. The extensive fleet includes 7.5t, rigid and artic vehicles including tail lift, flat, curtain, double deck moffett and low loader for specialist vehicle movements.
