At the Pall-Ex Group Annual Awards Evening back in February, The Cress Company received the coveted Fortec New Member of the Year Award in recognition of the significant impact the business has made since joining the network last year.

We spoke to Rodger Caldwell, Operations Manager at The Cress Company, as he shared what the award win means to the depot after such a short time with the network.

When did The Cress Company begin and how has it evolved since the beginning?

The Cress Company began in 2004, starting as a one-man business, working with fine food manufacturers who were looking for improved distribution services across Scotland.

Since then, the business has grown hugely, with additional depots opening in Milton Keynes, Maltby, Telford and Bristol allowing us to distribute nationwide.

How long have you been part of the Pall-Ex Group network?

The Cress Company – Route 2 joined the Pall-Ex network in May 2024.

What have been some highlights since the beginning of The Cress Company?

The growth and expansion of the past few years have been amazing. We are also incredibly honoured to have been voted the No.1 Distributor for the eighth consecutive year by members of the Guild of Fine Food, in recognition of our high service levels, and this would not be possible without our fantastic customers.

What does it mean to you to win the Fortec New Member of the Year Award?

It means a lot to us as a business, the win was completely unexpected so it was a great surprise.

Did you enjoy the awards evening?

Yes, it was a spectacular event and we thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations.

What have The Cress Company got planned for the future?

We are hoping to continue to grow our business and build an exceptional team that will contribute to more success and growth over the coming years.
