Kenyon Haulage links up with Fortec in key strategic move

Kenyon Haulage has joined the Fortec Distribution Network to offer customers an enhanced level of service – whatever their size.

The company which has two sites in Blackburn and Woodville, needed a pallet network that would meet the expectations of its customers and contacted Fortec after excellent word-of-mouth recommendations.

Katie Darnell, Senior Manager of Kenyon, says the two teams have integrated seamlessly since the partnership was finalised.

She said: “Fortec has an optimal network size for our needs and we knew we could put volumes in, while at the same time reducing our costs and overheads.

“It's refreshing how they listen to both their members and the customers and in turn provide a quality service.

“We have developed an excellent relationship with the team and are delighted with our decision. We aim to grow and Fortec understands and enables our ambition both in the UK and our desire to move into the international market which is an area in which we want to develop.”

Kenyon Haulage is responsible for servicing PR, FY and BB postcodes and is one of the 80 plus members within the Fortec network.

Established in 1933 by the Kenyon family, Kenyon Haulage was acquired by Graham Darnell in December 2016.   The company offers a total logistics offering from tankers, full loads to single pallets and delivers everything from garden furniture to beauty products.

The firm has 82 vehicles comprising a mixed fleet and employs 125 people.

In the past two years, the company has invested £1.2 million in new vehicles, renewing 33% of the fleet to ensure they are Euro 6 compliant and also has plans to expand its Woodville facility.
