The Northampton-based pallet network has passed their ISO 9001:2015 surveillance audit for Quality Management Systems following a visit in August.
ISO 9001:2015 is the most credible quality management standard. Not only gaining this accreditation but retaining it is a testament to the company’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards within its network.
The two-day audit was successfully completed at Fortec Distribution Network’s central hub in Northampton, demonstrating that Fortec takes a lot of care when it comes to their services and shows the solid foundation upon which the business is built.
The company has now achieved two years of surveillance audits without any minor or major non-conformances being raised against them. This consistency in business practices improves customer satisfaction by reducing service problems and ensures the business is better prepared to deal with the unexpected.
Fortec was first awarded the ISO 9001:2015 accreditation in 2020, as part of an ambitious five-year plan to strengthen its services. Implementing and upholding a robust Quality Management System is the result of significant effort from all areas of the business and can be used to easily identify areas of improvement within the business.
The accreditation gives Fortec’s membership of over 70 independent haulage companies peace of mind that quality processes are in place in the central hub and freight is being handled as it should.
Stuart White, General Manager at Fortec comments: “Having this internationally recognised accreditation demonstrates Fortec’s ability to continuously perform at a high standard and provide a service that meets both customer and regulatory requirements.”
During the audit, Fortec was also commended for implementing best practise through their warehouse to wheels scheme, in which warehouse personnel are given the opportunity to obtain and achieve their Class 1 and 2 HGV licenses.
